Shakespeare had to have been the writer of his works. Other writers would have taken credit for work they had written. In addition, Shakespeare understood his plays more than other actors did. He could read a script well enough to act, and Shakespeare was good friends with a writer who dedicated work to him. There are plenty of things proving he wrote the plays.
Why wouldn't the other writers take credit for their work? William Shakespeare's name is used for the author of his works. Almost all of his works after the 1590's were under his name. One of the only reasons none before then were under his name was because no one cared who wrote plays back then. They just wanted to read the work.
To begin, Shakespeare was an actor in his own plays, so he had to understand them. What better way to understand them then writing them? He was an actor in many other plays, as well. To act in plays, he had to be able to read the scripts, so he could not have been illiterate.
Also, Shakespeare was thought to go to public school as a child, so he would understand how to write. There are no records of any students going to the Stratford school. His signature may have been a scribble, but not many signatures are perfect. Also, there are six surviving signatures of Shakespeare, where there is only one of Marlowe, and none of other writers such as Francis Beaumont and John Webster.
On another note, Ben Jonson, a close friend of William Shakespeare, has dedicated work to him. He has repeatedly used Shakespeare as an actor, and they were very close. William Shakespeare was on the cast list of a showing of Every Man Has His Humour, a play written by Jonson, in 1594.
In the end, Shakespeare had to have been the writer. The other writers are letting him take credit. Shakespeare understood the plays to a deeper level than most people, and he could read the scripts. His friend dedicates many works to him as a writer. So, in conclusion, Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare.

After he died, a monument was put up in Stratford to honor him, but his hands were not placed on a pen. They were placed on that of a sack, to symbolize that he was a tradesmen. Shakespeare did not go to school, so how could he learn to read and write? His father sure couldn’t teach him, because he too could not read or write. Shakespeare’s children could not read or write. If he did write these wonderful plays, that everyone knows so well, wouldn’t he want his children to continue this legacy?
Also, it is true that Shakespeare did leave a signature, but nobody could read it, because of the poor writing. How do we know it’s his name? Maybe it is, in fact, just a scribble. When Shakespeare died, nobody in England really cared; it was not a huge tragedy for the people there, it was just another death. If he
